I have had my stand for a few months now. As I am at a different site each day my work area is different at each site.The portability of the stand was my main priority and this was just what I was looking for.However,the unit is not as stable as one would expect,considering you are entrusting its ability to hold your machine securely in place.It certainly works for my situation but I have chosen a Griffin for my office based machine where the circumstances are very different.

Very good stand, will take large widescreen laptops no problem BUT you must check first to see how far your screen on the laptop will bend back. If it doesn’t go much further back than 100 degrees and your laptop is a 17 widescreen it won’t work very well. Fortunately mine does.

It seems to be an inherent design flaw. Because of the way the scissors overlap one scissor on top of the other there is a difference in height between one side and the other that is not properly compensated for. Seems a pity that such a good design idea has been so poorly executed
Laptop sits lopsided

It does exactly what is says on the tin and does it very stylishly and very well! The product service and delivery from LaptopStuff was perfect and the stand arrived next day, well packaged, as ordered. I use a Dell Inspiron 17" laptop which is a bit of a heavy beast and the Coolstand handles it with ease and it really is as portable as described! Very happy customer indeed!
